Saying hey
Hello from Pakistan. I haven't been able to get out much so I don't have much to say, except the 'toon violence looks worse on TV than it's seemed here. It's also hard to find accessories for Ipods -- I brought out my Ipod but forgot to bring speakers or the adaptor -- so I'm temporarily without music.
The weather here is absolutely beautiful. I was expecting winter so I stuffed my bag full of sweaters, but it's been in the high 60s low 70s every day, with crisp blue skies. At night it gets chilly but not unpleasantly so.
There is good food to be had, spicy Pakistani food, and I also found a great Chinese restaurant, better than most in the US. (Not surprising since China is next door.) One can also find decent Mexican food in Pakistan, but the Italian food, as in many non-Western countries, is to be avoided.
So far the worst thing has been the flight to get here, which took two stopovers in Europe and the Middle East and got me in at 3:30 in the morning. I don't sleep well on planes and I didn't reach my bed until 5:30am the day I arrived, so I was a zombie for a couple of days after.
